Noss Mayo is a village in the civil parish of Newton and Noss in the South Hams district of South West Devon, around 6 miles from Plymouth. It lies about one mile inland, on the southern bank of Newton Creek, an arm of the estuary of the River Yealm. On the opposite, northern bank of the creek is Newton Ferrers. The two villages were included in the top 20 prettiest towns and villages in Devon in a list compiled by readers of the "Visit Devon" website. Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers are home to a handful of local amenities, including a primary school, pharmacy, yachting club, a small number of pubs, local and national traders and a local church.
