Smugglers is located in the much sought after area of Mount Zion in the heart of Downlong, St Ives. In the middle ages, the village emerged as a fishing and trading port which led to the town developing around the wharf and the harbour. This produced a maze of small narrow cobbled streets as the town spread from the sea front. This area became known as Downlong.
The cottage is perfectly positioned close to the centre of the town and a stones throw from the Harbour beach. With the
many fine restaurants, shops, local galleries, Tate St Ives and a further four beautiful sandy beaches there is an abundance of activities to keep all ages entertained.
The cottage is currently being used as a popular holiday let and is to be sold including furniture, fixtures, fittings and contents, bar the owners' personal effects. This will enable any further holiday bookings to be honoured and a smooth transition between owners.
This charming cottage is spread over three floors with the living room and kitchen area on the ground floor, the larger bedroom with WC and family bathroom on the first-floor, and there are a further two bedrooms on the second floor. The first and second floor front bedrooms have beautiful views over the Harbour and to the coastline beyond.
With its turquoise seas, sandy beaches and sub-tropical plants, St Ives is hugely popular and its charm attracts many return visitors to the town both young and old. It is known for the quality of light and as such has enticed many artists to the town. Consequently there is a thriving artistic scene with many art galleries including the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Gardens.
