Penrose Bungalow is a charming, single-storey family home that is situated in a rural position with only one neighbour and surrounded on two sides by open fields. The property is approached down its own private driveway, at the far end of which there is plenty of parking for six or more vehicles, motorhome or boat. Penrose Bungalow is ideal either as a principal residence, second home or as an investment property for holiday rentals. The property includes a spacious garden and extensive outbuildings
The original bungalow has been extensively extended and modernised over the years and now it has photovoltaic solar panels and a charging point for an electric car.
The front door leads into a hallway off which are the siting room, kitchen, utility room, family bathroom and three bedrooms. The utility room houses the Worcester Bosch condenser oil-fired boiler and a WC room . The family bathroom has a sunken bath and separate shower. The three bedrooms are all double, one of which is currently used as a study. The principal bedroom has its own large en suite wet room and lovely views out to sea. The wet room has electric underfloor-heating.
The sitting room has a sealed wood burner and lovely wooden flooring. Sliding doors lead out onto a south-facing terrace with views to the sea beyond. To the rear of the sitting room is the kitchen with handmade Elm Wood units, double ovens and grills, five burner gas hob, built-in fridge, central island and breakfast bar. Beyond the kitchen is a dining area, off which is a conservatory.
In the courtyard surrounding the parking area are three double garages, all with electric doors. One of the garages has recently been re-roofed and made airtight and insulated. One of the garages has a workshop at the rear and is currently configured as a single, long garage. There is also a utility room that is attached to the wood and garden store which joins the neighbouring property on the rear wall. There are both hot and cold external taps, external power sockets and a high power car charging socket. A covered porch leads to the front door.
The rear garden is particularly charming and secluded with shrubs and fruit trees. Incorporated in the garden is a greenhouse (with both water and lights) and a summerhouse, again with electricity and provides a filtration unit for the pond. The pond has a fountain, waterfall and underwater lighting.
At the front of the house there is a lovely lawned area surrounded by shrubs. There is also a front porch with veranda and terrace. Leading to a further terrace to the conservatory and a side gravelled garden leading to a second rear garden and patio area. Steps lead down to the oil tank which supplies the central heating boiler and there are also two lpg tanks for the gas hob.
With its extensive outbuildings and garages it could be possible to convert, subject to gaining the necessary planning consent, into further residential secondary accommodation. The property enjoys far-reaching views out to sea and is only about a 30 minute walk from Talland Bay.
