The location Brill is a delightful rural hamlet lying beside Constantine village, about 2.5 miles from Port Navas creek and 6 miles from Falmouth and Helston towns. Constantine lies on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is well known for its easy access to the Helford River and other beauty spots in the area, including Frenchman's Creek and Mawnan Smith as well as spectacular coastal scenery, blissful for those walking or cycling.
Brill is a natural and unspoilt place, comprising a handful of individual homes in a lovely environment so near to village amenities. Constantine is a thriving and popular village with an active community and great everyday facilities which include a well-regarded primary school, two village stores; one specialising in wine and spirits, a 13th century church, Trengilly Wartha Inn and local pub, as well as doctors' and dentists' surgeries. The village is a friendly place too, with numerous societies including a sports/social club together with an increasingly popular community venue called The Tolmen Centre offering a variety of events.
Regular bus services run to Falmouth and Helston. The city of Truro, with its Cathedral, fine shopping centre and mainline railway to Paddington London, is about 15 miles away.
The property Believed to have been built in the early 1800s, this pretty former farmhouse is of a quality and particular appeal that we seldom see.
Restoration and improvement works here have been thoughtfully carried out with great care to preserve its original characteristics and charm. The recently refitted kitchen that has been opened out into the dining area is a clever and quality addition yet keeping with the style and character of the property. Both the living room and the kitchen/diner have inglenook fireplaces with woodturning stoves, ceilings are beamed and the many large multipane sash windows let light flood in helping create a comfortable, bright and especially homely interior.
Upstairs are three bedrooms and a large and luxurious bath/shower room, whilst downstairs is a flexible, oak floored, vaulted ceiling room which would work well as a
fourth bedroom, studio or work from home office.
The house is practical too, with plenty of cupboards and wardrobes built-in, a downstairs shower room/WC along with a delightful Victorian style conservatory/porch, leading from the dining room.
The quality and attention to detail pervades outside where all is so established and beautifully presented with much old granite, including gate posts and granite driveway, dry stone walls and Cornish hedges.
The front garden is a plantsman's delight; natural, private and full of so many shrubs, including camellia, perennials, bulbs and spring flowering plants. The driveway provides enclosed parking space for several cars and leads to a fine granite faced and slate roofed garage/workshop.This is without doubt a rarity and likely to please the most discerning of period home hunters.
