Leisure


Hayle is most famous for its beautiful, 3-mile stretch of golden sand dunes and beach within the St Ives Bay. The dunes are Cornwall's largest, therefore it is unsurprising that Hayle's beach stretching from Hayle River to Godrevy Lighthouse is often called the most attractive beach in the area! Attracting a host of beach go-ers, from surfers to dog walkers, the sheltered estuary is also a hot spot for migratory birds and so remains popular with birdwatchers too. The area is full of countryside and beaches along Cornwalls coastline. Away from the coast, the Copperhouse Activity Trail - a 3km adventure around the Copperhouse Pool - is popular with families wanting to get fresh air and see what the area has to offer. Hayle has its own outdoor swimming pool and St Ives Leisure centre is nearby. There are also many social clubs and activities to join in with, in Hayle's bustling community.

Education


Hayle's schools provide education for children aged 5 to 16 years. Both Bodriggy Academy and Penpol School are within a mile of Ocean Rise offering an exciting teaching for foundation to Key Stage 2 children. For secondary school education, Hayle Academy offers a broad and interesting curriculum and was rated "Good" for the 2015 school year.

Shopping


As well as the many high street brands and food stores, Hayle is home too many individual and boutique retailers making the shopping experience varied. The town has many restaurants, pubs and cafes to try. Nearby Penzance is a major market town for the local area offering as many as 400 shops and facilities including The Wharfside Shopping Centre which houses over 25 retailers on 3 levels.

Transport


Ocean Rise situated in Hayle, is well connected to the rest of Cornwall and Devon via the main A30 road making travel to Plymouth, Exeter and the rest of the UK easy. Access to the M5 is less than 2 hours away by car. The well-known town of Penzance is only 5miles to the south, offering direct transport links to major cities such as Bristol and London Paddington as well as a bus station with frequent local and national services. Newquay Airport is 25 miles away and flys to many UK cities including London (in 1hr 10m!).
