The impressive timber-frame structure sits on stilts and extends to the north of the main house, originally built to accommodate the Late Hugh Stoneman’s print studio, modelled on his former Islington space. A covered balcony runs along the length of one side, with views over the garden. Accessed via a link hall, the space is divided in two; one half contains a utility room, shower room, beautifully proportioned double-height gallery space with full-height windows, and a study. The second half is a self-contained space, with a wonderfully bright living room, again with floor-to-ceiling windows, a kitchen and mezzanine bedroom level. Both halves have access to the balcony.

A second self-contained studio sits a little apart from the main house, which has been successfully used by the current owner as a holiday let. The 2.2 acre plot is made up of gently sloping gardens and mature trees, at the foot of which runs the Chyandour Brook. The driveway, which has space for a number of parked cars, is completely private and demised to the house.

The house is situated in beautiful Cornish countryside between the villages of Madron and Heamoor, around two miles from the centre of Penzance and the seaside. Penzance is the last major town on the Lands End Peninsula. Chapel Street, the most historic area of the town, contains an excellent selection of restaurants and pubs. The Isles of Scilly ferry sails regularly to the islands throughout the summer. The recently re-opened Jubilee Pool, originally built in the 1930s, is one of the last remaining salt-water tidal pools in Europe.

Penzance station runs direct mainline services to Plymouth (around 2 hours), Exeter (around 3 hours) and London Paddington in around five and half hours. Newquay Airport is reachable by road in around an hour.
